Ebeveyn Grundtvig workshop (Let's Share Our Experiences for the Disabled) aims to gather people that thinks and regards the disabled people are important part of their life and share their experience and produce knowledge to sustainable European Union citizenship. Participants will share their unique experiences regarding special education and interact with each other. In addition, participants are expected to share unique experiences about their countries regarding historical and cultural characteristics. Participants will share materials (e.g. videos, photographs, other products) addressing the education of the disabled in this interactive setting. Before and during the workshop, participants will share their experiences regarding the problems regarding the education of the disabled children. The organizing institution is going to provide families with an orientation and training regarding the online platform which aims to improve families’ online interaction skills. In addition, electronic applications which aim to help families to use computer and mobile technologies for special education will be presented. The software program regarding this purpose will be provided as well. Families will be provided with practical clues to prepare their children for independence, and they will be asked to implement those clues. Families of children with similar characteristics will be visited and interaction among these families will be sustained. At the end of this study, participants will have a clear understanding of special education applications realized in different cultures. They will be able to use computers and mobile technologies for the education of the disabled. They will share their experiences with other families to prepare their children for an independent living. They will be able to generate and use new practical solutions to treat their children. Finally, they will get to know more about Turkey and develop a mutual European identity involving Turkish contents as well. |
